If you are within 400 miles traveling by car could be the most convenient way. You can stay in a hotel the night before surgery and decide to either drive back (with a companion) the same day of surgery and schedule a follow up appointment in 1-2 weeks or stay the night of the surgery and be seen the day after prior to returning home
